Energy Efficiency Rebates and Tax Credits

From time to time, various state and federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, utilities, or individual contractors may offer rebates for energy efficient appliance purchases or for converting to a particular fuel source.

Corning Natural Gas has some limited rebates. Call or email the company for more information to see if you qualify.

The agencies below may provide information and guidance on various energy related programs, some of which overlap with energy audits and weatherization:

Federal Tax Credits

In August of 2022, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was signed into law. As part of that legislation, multiple tax credits are available to homeowners up to $3200, or up to 30% of the sum of qualified expenses with limits beginning in 2023-2033. Credits can be applied for in years that qualified improvements are made and are not limited to one-time use. Commercial property owners and contractors are also eligible for various tax credits.
