Title: Gas SCADA Technician

Job Description:
· Operate and maintain Corning’s Gas SCADA system.
· Install and oversee installation of SCADA equipment in the field.
· Write programming for RTUs
· Layout and design SCADA and electrical installations.
· Create cost estimates for system upgrades and new installations.
· Work closely with several departments to complete projects.
· Create Bill of Materials for projects.
· Procure material and equipment for SCADA system.
Qualifications:
Required
· Candidates must posses a minimum of an Associate in Applied Science degree in an Electrical, Mechanical Technology, Computer Science or Information System program.
· Must have strong working knowledge of personal computers
· Must possess basic computer programming experience
· Must have knowledge of discrete and analog wiring methods
· Must possess excellent social skills and ability to work with a broad range of people.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and have the ability to support some travel throughout the company’s service territory and facilities (gate stations, customers, etc.), as required.
· Must be able to provide after hour/on-call support for resolving telemetry/system problems.
· Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
· Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Desired
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science or equivalent, progressive training and experience, and minimum 2 years’ experience with distributed control systems, SCADA, gas measurement and regulation, and related components.
· Experience with programming languages (Function Block, Ladder Logic, and Structured Text, VB.A)
· Experience with RTUs (Control Wave Mirco)
· Experience with windows server/client environments and TCP/IP networking
· Experience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet, DH+, ControlNet, Modbus, Heart)
· Working knowledge concerning the available types of and the application of control system instrumentation
· Serial and network data communication standards and techniques
· Basic electrical and electronic principles required for electrical and controls engineering
· I/O hardware layout and panel design
· Be familiar with Engineering design/drawing standards including P&IDs, flow sheets, logic drawings, loop drawings, electrical one lines, etc.
· Troubleshooting of control systems and components based on the knowledge listed above
