Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

On June 23, 2008 the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) in Case 07-M-0548, issued an Order establishing an Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (EEPS) for New York State. In this Order, all New York State utilities were required to implement a residential natural gas heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) energy efficiency program.

To comply with the Commission Order Corning Natural Gas collaborated with other utilities, NYSERDA and other parties and developed a preliminary Energy Efficiency Plan (EEPS) that was submitted to the PSC on 08/22/2008. On 04/09/2009 the PSC approved the Corning Natural Gas EEP program with modifications. The Corning Natural Gas EEP eligibility requirements below will be effective July 1, 2009 for equipment installed after July 1, 2009. Incentive rebates will be credited on your Corning Natural Gas account after all required information has been processed by Corning Natural Gas. For landlords who do not have an Corning Natural Gas account, a check will be processed in lieu of an bill credit.

Customers may not receive a rebate from both Corning Natural Gas and NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority). Customers may also be able to receive federal tax credits or manufacturer's rebates (if available).

Eligible equipment must be installed on or after July 1, 2009. Installations of equipment prior to July 1, 2009 are not subject to this rebate program. Each eligible measure will require certain documentation as part of the customer enrollment procedures for the program.  Some of this information will include items specific to the device installed.  At a minimum the model, serial number, energy rating and specific contract/purchase data for each item will be required to assure program compliance.

You can acquire an application by printing the form available on this site, from your contractor or by visiting our Corning Office.
